After running with Malcolm this weekend it’s clear to those that have caught a flashing glimpse of him as he flies through the forests of Hampshire that he’s in great shape for this years West Highland Way. He’s as cool as ice and more focused than Hubble. This week will be full ‘chill down’ as he prepares to take the safety catch off, commences countdown and launches himself at the course. It looks as though The Hoof Hearted team are back in business. This weekend they were seen in the Valee de Joux with a guest appearance from Robin.

Marc, Malc and Rich set off at a leisurely pace letting Robin set the example as he sped across the peaks to the amazement and bewilderment of all.

Back in business

Regular readers of this blog will be aware of the ‘Red-Mist’. This is not the sight red Hoof Hearted T-shirt appearing from the low cloud but a state of mind that takes Malc to a parallel universe. It speeds up time and has been pushing ‘Hoof Hearted’ up the rankings… So we thought we would describe how the process manifests itself:

‘Red-Mist’ process:

Two or three groups will be spotted ahead
The gaze narrows
The pace quickens
Suggestions that the group look like they are in our category start to be made
The pace quickens further
The group are greeted, thanked, asked if they are OK
The group are then passed and left bewildered
The pace quickens further
The process is then repeated from step 1 until the finish line is crossed.

Red mist

It must be the altitude or the constant urge to push boundaries further than they have been pushed before. Mountain man Green astounded onlookers today as he perfected the Mo Farrah hill start, shaving tenths of a second off today’s time.
